Medical History:   

The patient was admitted to Beijing Puhua International Hospital due to speech, motion and intellectual developmental disorder for the previous 3 years. He was had experienced an intracranial hemorrhage in the first month of his life.  

Medical Condition at Admission:

Safan was in low spirits and very gaunt and thin. His legs were constrained from normal use due to high muscle tone. Safan was unable to keep his head from drooping without support.

After admission for brain development disorder, several medical protocols were applied, including: improvement of cerebral blood circulation and nutrition, combined with traditional Chinese medicine and rehabilitation training.

Physical condition pre-discharge:

The patient was discharged in good condition, with more obvious responses to the outside world and more emotional expressions, such as smiling. Supporting strength in trunk and limbs were improved. Supporting strength of the neck was also improved and he was thus able to hold a longer time. Muscle tone in limbs was improved, and the patient began to be able to bend his knees. Fingers were more relaxed, and autonomous grabbing was noted in left hand with limited power; toy shaking was noted in right hand. The patient’s condition was much better prior to discharge than at admission. Safan’s condition is expected to continue to improve over the next several months.
