OVERVIEW

Name: Mrs. Wang

Country: China

Treatment: Embryonic multi-potent stem cells and embryonic hematopoietic stem cells implantation

HISTORY

Patient Wang was a 53-year-old patient who experienced an ovarian cancer surgery more than 6 years prior to admission (at the time of her initial diagnosis). Her uterus, fallopian tubes, ovary and diaphragm some metastases were removed in the operation. The postoperative diagnosis was of ovarian cancer. She received six rounds of chemotherapy post-surgery. Her recovery was acceptable.

5 years prior to admission she relapsed, as the Cancer was not controlled. So she accepted another six rounds of systemic chemotherapy. The review of tumor markers returned to normal after the chemotherapy.

4 years prior to admission imaging revealed that there were metastases in both the liver and the abdominal cavity. Radiotherapy was offered to her for several times after that. Soon thereafter, metastasis to the brain occurred, which resulted in left hemiplegia. She received another operation followed by radiotherapy.

4 years prior to admission, metastasis to the liver recurred, and she again accepted systemic chemotherapy. Her recovery was very slow. She always felt weak, with dizziness, sweating and other symptoms. Her appetite and sleep quality were poor. She experienced the immunological cancer treatment for twice 3 years prior to admission, and the symptoms were relieved to some extent after the treatment. 1 year prior to admission, metastasis to the liver occurred, and she underwent another surgery, followed by systemic therapies.

Medical condition before Stem Cell Treatment (SCT) for Ovarian Cancer

Before Stem Cell Treatment, her mental spirit was good, but she felt somewhat weak. Her appetite and sleeping quality were poor, while both the bowel and bladder function were normal. No abnormal imaging was found in radiologic examination. However, she showed mild hematopoietic suppression:  the number of her red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets were lower than normal, possibly from the frequent chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Stem Cell Treatment (SCT) for Ovarian Cancer

Embryonic multi-potent stem cells and embryonic hematopoietic stem cells transplantation

Medical condition after Stem Cell Treatment (SCT) for Ovarian Cancer

On March 31st 2009, she accepted her first embryonic tissue stem cell implantation (embryonic multi-potent stem cells and embryonic hematopoietic stem cells transplantation). The next day she felt that she could see more clearly than before, and had symptoms of an accelerating metabolism, for example sweating. A week later, she could eat more food and her sleep was obviously improved. Two weeks later, the blood routine review showed that the white blood cells, red blood cells, hemoglobin and platelets had gradually normalized. So she received the embryonic tissue stem cell transplantation for the second time on May 1st 2009. Then, she twice underwent twice embryonic stem cell implantation on May 26th and June 15th 2009. There was no adverse effect after the transplantation.

She is became more conscious, and began to feel‘excellent.’ Her appetite and sleeping quality became normal.  Her bowel and bladder functions were also normal. Vital signs are stable and the functions of heart and lung all normalized She had energy, felt powerful, and her vision had returned normal by the time of her discharge.
