HISTORY

In May 2005, some seven years prior to the current admission, Patient Stanislava started suffering a “prickling sensation” on her left arm, which initially lasted no more than seven days. Then a similar symptom was noted with her right arm, which lasted about two weeks. In June 2005, more severe “prickling” was noticed with her legs, then later with her head and abdomen. These symptoms were partially relieved with some symptomatic therapies.

On July 21st 2009, she had both a headache and dizziness, during which she suddenly fell to ground. She could no longer walk, and had upper abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting and blurred vision. The above-mentioned symptoms happened to her repeatedly. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at a local hospital and later received steroid pulse therapy. Her condition was stable during the previous two years, until this 5 months prior to the current admission.

On July 16th 2012, she was admitted to Puhua International Hospital (PIH) for further treatment.

Medical Condition before Stem Cell Treatment (SCT) for MS

At admission, her chief complaint was: “weakness on my legs, and I cannot balance myself very well while walking.”  Her left leg was more symptomatic than the right one. During the rehabilitation exercises, her left leg lacked the strength and coordination of the right leg.

Patient Stanislava suffered from MS has begun to feel much better than before her SCT.  The physical examination shows there is an increase of muscle strength of her legs. She can balance herself while walking and no long sways unsteadily from from side to side. Her left leg performs much better during the rehabilitation exercises. Moreover, she can complete the rehabilitation exercises faster and more effectively than before.
